The BAFE logo is only supplied to registered companies and they must always specify what schemes they are registered to. It is a marque of approval that informs you that the registered company is competent in their chosen area of Fire Protection and is regularly assessed to monitor the high quality standard they should be adhering to.
These logos are owned and are the copyright of BAFE. The misuse of the BAFE logos are covered by UK Law and Trading Standards.
Please be aware that we do take action against companies who use the BAFE logo without being entitled to do so.
To report misuse of the BAFE logo please email us with dated evidence to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will investigate. The reporting of logo misuse is confidential and your identity will remain anonymous.
All BAFE registered companies should display what schemes they are registered to. For example, if you are looking for a company to provide you with a Fire Risk Assessment you should be using a Fire Protection Company registered with our ‘Life Safety Fire Risk Assessment SP205’ scheme. They should therefore be displaying SP205 – Part 1 underneath the BAFE logo:
If you are looking for a particular fire protection service you should be asking what schemes they are BAFE registered with. For example, our Fire Detection and Alarm Systems SP203-1 scheme is broken into four modules: Design, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance. To ensure you are aware of exactly what module the company is registered to you can check via our Registered Company Directory
For registered companies registered to the design and/or Installation and/or the Commissioning and/or the Maintenance modules they will display this logo:
For registered companies who only hold certification in the Maintenance module with the Fire Detection and Alarms SP203-1 scheme will display this logo:
This means they are not certified with the Design, Installation or Commissioning modules of the BAFE Fire Detection and Alarm Systems scheme.
