Frank Jackson retires from BAFE Technician Assessor Role
Wednesday 16th May 2018
Frank will be well known to many BAFE registered organisations for his work over many years to assess portable extinguisher technicians. He has clocked up tens of thousands of miles all over the UK in the pursuit of measuring competence for this service. Frank has now chosen to retire from his assessor duties and the whole BAFE team offer him our grateful thanks for his years of support.
Frank worked for many years for O. Heap & Son in Derby (one of the very earliest BAFE Registered Organisations) and in 2006 started to provide assessment services, originally for the BAFE team in Kingston and then when BAFE moved to Moreton. With a new team in place, Frank and Peter Chilton were able to offer both continuity and a genuine understanding of the value of the BAFE fire extinguisher technician.
Frank provided invaluable support to Tony Maskens, then the Technical Schemes Manager, in the work on the British Standard’s Panel FSH/2-17 where he played a key role in the revision of BS5306 Parts 3 & 8 and the development of BS5306-9. His knowledge and strong beliefs in the values of quality and competence have served BAFE’s registered organisations and technicians very well over the years.
We offer our thanks to Frank and hope he enjoys a bit more leisure time and less travelling across the UK.
