BAFE SP101 Competency of Portable Fire Extinguisher Organisations and Technicians Scheme - ISO9001 Route

Organisations who wish to obtain BAFE SP101 Registration must first implement a management system via either an ISO9001 (to the scope of BAFE SP101) certification or a management system (to the scope of BAFE SP101) certification from a UKAS Accredited Certification Body. Please note following Third-Party Certification being awarded, the organisation need to apply directly to BAFE complete the process of becoming a BAFE SP101 Registered Organisation.

3core2 Certification, BSI (British Standards Institution), Independent European Certification Limited, LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board), NSI (National Security Inspectorate), SOCOTEC Certification UK Ltd, and SSAIB (Security Systems Alarm Inspection Board) are the UKAS Accredited Certification Bodies that are licensed by BAFE to deliver BAFE SP101 Competency Scheme audit (ISO9001 Route). On enquiry, please ensure you state which route you wish to use to gain Third-Party Certification to the scope of BAFE SP101 (ISO9001 or Management System).

Once an organisation has achieved ISO 9001 (to the scope of SP101) or Management System audit certification (to the scope of SP101) they will need to complete company application and technician application form/s (downloadable from the BAFE website www.bafe.org.uk) and forward to BAFE. Subject to details being satisfactory, BAFE will produce a certificate and release the relevant logos to promote your registration. The organisation will have its name placed on the national list of BAFE Registered Organisations, which is available online to the public free of charge or may be verified by reference on the BAFE website (www.bafe.org.uk).

Please Note: As part of the BAFE SP101 scheme, BAFE and your chosen Certification Body will share organisation and technician data. This is stated in the scheme document (Clause 13.2 note 15 and Clause 15.1 note 1).
