- Upgrades were needed to keep the document aligned with associated National and European Standards.
- The standard responds to the increasing recognition of the application of emergency lighting to assist the safety of occupants who may stay in a building during a mains supply failure.
- In many instances, it might not be necessary or appropriate to evacuate the premises in the event of failure of the supply to the normal lighting, but precautions need to be taken to enable occupants to remain on the premises in safety. This is referred to as Emergency Safety Lighting. - Chris Watts
