For the fire safety industry, it is essential that competency is of a good quality to ensure that standards are met. This then provides a level of assurance that any installation is completed to the required standards – as third-party certification provides the responsible person or duty holder the assurance that the company selected to conduct works has been checked at least once a year.

There is a fundamental need for the checking of competency for each element of any scope – as it provides the fire safety industry with a stable position to ensure that engineers and all other staff are competent to carry out their duties.
