If a Certification Body is measuring the competency of organizations or individuals then they themselves should be, as a minimum, measured in their own competency to achieve this. Competency in the fire safety industry is an absolute must at all levels.

Using a UKAS accredited body to assess against BAFE schemes gives the industry reassurance that the contractors providing work on the market are being audited by also an independently verified Third Party Certification Body that meets assessment requirements set by the industry. By doing so, we can expect that BAFE certified contractors are being assessed by a Certification Body that does not compromise on quality which in turn ensures relevant quality of BAFE certificate holders.
