Withdrawn BAFE Scheme Information

BAFE continually reviews its Schemes with dedicated monitoring groups from the industry to ensure they still hold relevance and that BAFE can verify the validity of certificated services/products during their complete lifecycle. If it is decided that this is not the case, Schemes can be withdrawn to uphold our responsibility of developing quality systems for Third-Party Certification.

BAFE SP201 Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (LPS 1014)

This scheme was originally introduced under joint agreement with BRE Global (LPCB) to recognise organisations that held LPS 1014 and permit listing on the BAFE Fire Safety Register. This joint agreement was withdrawn as of 31/03/2023 with the agreement of BRE Global (and subsequently the BAFE SP201 scheme also).

BAFE SP202 Gas Extinguishing Systems (LPS 1204)

This scheme was originally introduced under joint agreement with BRE Global (LPCB) to recognise organisations that held LPS 1204 and permit listing on the BAFE Fire Safety Register. This joint agreement was withdrawn as of 31/03/2023 with the agreement of BRE Global (and subsequently the BAFE SP202 scheme also).

BAFE SP103 Refurbishment of Portable Fire Extinguishers

This scheme was originally designed to operate for ISO9001 certificated companies (with a scope to SP103) that provided refurbishment services for fire extinguishers. The BAFE SP103 scheme was officially withdrawn and ceased to operate 30/06/2016.

MP101 Manufacture of Portable Fire Extinguishers

The BAFE MP101 scheme was officially withdrawn and ceased to operate 30/06/2016.

BAFE MP103 Manufacture of Fire Blankets

This scheme was originally designed to operate for companies that manufactured fire blankets to BS EN 1869 and had obtained the appropriate third party product certification. The BAFE MP103 scheme was officially withdrawn and ceased to operate 30/06/2016.

BAFE SP204 Halon Decommissioning

This scheme was originally designed to operate for companies who offered halon decommissioning to verify their compliance with the requirements of EC2037/2000. It ensured the competence of technicians involved in this process provided the highest possible protection to the environment, life and property. The BAFE SP204 scheme was officially withdrawn and ceased to operate 04/05/2010.

BAFE Registered Organisations must use their appropriate BAFE Registered Organisation logo.
