Any organisation that features on the BAFE Fire Safety Register has earned their listing by being audited by a UKAS Accredited Certification Body and achieving Third-Party Certification to one or more BAFE Schemes (and meeting relevant BAFE Scheme criteria). This requirement goes above and beyond many other bodies on the market, strongly demonstrating that all BAFE Registered Organisations listed are committed to competency and are prepared to be audited on an annual basis to demonstrate their ongoing competence for specific fire and wider life safety work.

Responsible People using the BAFE Fire Safety Register can find and verify evidentially competent organisations to help them meet their fire safety obligations.

BAFE licensed to provide audit and award Third-Party Certification to the scope of one or more specific BAFE competency Schemes.

BAFE operate competency Schemes for UKAS Accredited Third-Party Certification in the following areas:

• Domestic Grade D fire detection and alarm system design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance (BAFE DS301)
• Fire extinguisher service and maintenance (BAFE SP101)
• Dry and wet riser/falling installations service and maintenance (BAFE SP105)
• Non-Domestic fire detection and alarm system design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance (BAFE SP203-1)
• Fixed gaseous fire extinguishing system design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance (BAFE SP203-3)
• Emergency lighting system design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance (BAFE SP203-4)
• Fire Risk Assessment (BAFE SP205)
• Kitchen fire protection system (kitchen suppression/extinguishing systems) design, installation, commissioning, recharge, and maintenance (BAFE SP206)
