This is an introductory and intensive course on the principles of fire extinguishing, including:

  • Theory of fire extinguishing
  • Different extinguishing methods and media
  • System types
  • Safety and environmental aspects
  • System configuration and design
  • Interaction with detection systems
  • Principles of actuation
  • Portable fire extinguishers
  • Local application and total flood systems
  • Alternative solutions to fire engineering in the light of Halon removal

This course is ideally suited to fire alarm sales engineers, end users, consultants, specifiers, insurers and people from a portable extinguisher background. It also acts as a companion course to those engineers that are attending, or have attended, the CCC course on Halon decommissioning.
