Unit 3 Advanced Alarm Design Course - 1 day
Fire Alarms
Delegates are advised to pass Unit 1 before proceeding with this Unit.
Intended for those working principally in system design, estimating and drawing fire alarm systems, this course will interest designers, consultants and system house engineers. Most delegates will attend both this and Unit 2.
Unit 3 covers:
- Detailed design calculations for alarms
- The effect of ambient noise
- The recommendations for alarm zones and phased evacuation
- Communications with the fire service
- Cable limitations, especially for loops
- The recommendations for network cables
- Battery calculations for standby and alarm durations
Delegates will be given substantial tests to consolidate the course presentation, concluding with a scheme design for alarms.
