Unit 2 Advanced Detector Design Course - 1 day
Delegates are advised to pass Unit 1 before proceeding with this Unit.
Intended for those working principally in system design, estimating and drawing fire protection schemes, this course will interest designers, consultants and system house engineers. Most delegates will attend both this and Unit 3.
Unit 2 is a detailed study of:
- The application of BS 5839-1 (2002) for detector coverage and spacings
- Efficient usage of detectors
- Effect of obstructions, such as beams
- The effect of pitched roofs for all types of detector
- The categories of protection in the latest Code of Practice
- Positioning of manual call points
Delegates will be given substantial tests to consolidate the course presentation, concluding with a scheme design for detection and call points to a particular category.
